11th Sunday in Ordinary Time – Bidding prayers

Introduction (by the Presider) Let us bring our prayers to the Lord, who forgives the guilt of our sin.

  1. For confidence in God’s power to heal us and raise us up (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  2. For forgiveness in all our sins (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  3. For the courage to make a new start (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  4. For the healing of all the sick (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  5. For all those doing exams (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  6. For a blessing on our fathers, this Father’s Day (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.

The presider prays for the dead, those who died during the week and those whose anniversaries occur (and on Father’s Day, remembers especially all fathers who have died)  that God, the eternal Father, may raise them to life on the last day (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider): O Lord our God, you save us from all our distress: hear our prayers and help us each day of this week, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
