A fleeting thought on a solar eclipse
“For God had made two huge lights, the sun and moon, to shine down upon the earth
— the larger one, the sun, to preside over the day and the smaller one, the moon, to preside through the night;” Gen 1:16
It looks like they got a bit mixed up this morning!
Could the solar eclipse be a metaphor for so many of our disputes in church, bright lights which are meant to complement one another instead clashing and cancelling each other out?
Each operates best in its own sphere and each can provide illumination at different times and in different ways, but not when competing with each other.

Thanks for that. Then we had the bit of cloud to add to the confusion of day / night even for the birds and animals. The people of many nations in prayer and reflection. Clew Bay supplying the islands, rocks, Reek and the beauty for those on the margins.
