AMRI Zoom on the Synod: Tuesday 16 Nov 7.00-9.00pm

The Association of Leaders of Missionaries and Religious of Ireland (AMRI) represents and promotes active collaboration between Religious Institutes, Societies of Apostolic Life and Lay Missionary Organisations.​ It seeks to respond to existing and emerging realities both in Ireland and overseas by supporting and energising the life and ministries of its members and of the wider church with a renewed sense of hope and relevance.

AMRI are hosting a Webinar Tues 16 Nov 7.00-9.00pm about the Synod and the 4 panelists are:

  • Bishop Brendan Leahy of Limerick; Vice Chair of the Synodal Steering Committee
  • Julianne Moran; Missio Ireland and Member of the Synodal Steering Committee
  • Sr. Josephine Enenmo OLA; Director of Religious Formation Ministry Program with AMRI
  • Colm Holmes; Joint Co-ordinator of We Are Church Ireland

“If the priesthood has a better future, it has to be humanized; it has to find expression in better mutual support, collaboration and partnership. It has to free itself from the variant strains of clericalism such as sexism, paternalism, narcissism and superiority complex.”
“So long as we continue to make women invisible and inferior in the Church’s language, liturgy, theology and law, we impoverish ourselves as if we heard with only one ear, we saw with only one eye and we thought with only one half of the brain…”
