This is the prayer used by Gerry O’Connor at the start and end of the Zoom presentation.
We arrive with scattered thoughts and desires.
We, gather together from scattered places,
We’ve rushed and pushed to be here.
Lead us now to the well of silence.
Lead us to the kiva of darkness.
We now close our eyes…
We dwell within…
Shalom!
We come back now to the light.
Blessed a little by stopping.
Blessed a little by relaxing.
Blessed a little by breathing.
Let us now see a little differently.
Let us now listen a little more closely.
May the Spirit of creative expectations
……breathe between us,
……breathe among us,
……breathe around us.
The sum can be greater than its parts.
Our hope can surpass all our doubts.
Our creative expectations can be fulfilled.
……Let it be so!
.….. Let it be so!
……Let it be so!
As a member of the laity I would like to thank the ACP for providing the link last night for that very interesting talk and discussion with Christopher Lamb.
Would it be possible for Gerry O’Connor to publish on screen the very simple yet profound prayer with which he opened last nights event?.
With thanks,
Colm Madigan.
I would also like to add my thanks for the generosity of the ACP in allowing non-members the opportunity to listen to Chris Lamb and for providing this recording and prayer. We all need to have the chance to listen to sincere observers to get a more nuanced picture of the papacy of Francis and the opposition he faces in putting into practice what Vatican II and it treasures calls us to offer all people of good will.
