Charles Scicluna, Metropolitan Archbishop of Malta, is essentially “the church’s top prosecutor on abuse cases” (CRUX).

‘It is important for the shepherd to listen to his flock and not limit himself to ordering it about.
The faithful are together on this journey and just like a shepherd with his flock, sometimes one needs to
trust the flock that they know the way.’

Root & Branch are delighted that he is coming to share our evening. How can we be a more beatitudinal church? How can we become more merciful, more peacemaking, hungering and thirsting for righteousness?

Few are more experienced than he in challenging unrighteousness. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear him, and to ask your questions on deeply painful and contentious issues, as we share in the blessings of Our Lord’s great beatitudinal message.

Archbishop Charles Scicluna is the Archbishop of Malta and is widely experienced in investigating and prosecuting the most serious allegations of clerical sexual abuse. He is known for his ability to ‘articulate the most complex and obscure articles of faith in a clear and very down-to-earth manner’ and for his compassion towards survivors of clerical abuse.
One Chilean survivor said, “I’ve been telling my story and dealing with church officials forever; it was the first time I felt empathy.”
