Bidding Prayers 11 Dec 2022 (Third Sunday of Advent)

BIDDING PRAYERS for Sunday Mass

Introduction (by the Presider) Let us bring our prayers to God, who raises up those who are bowed down.

  1. That all may realise the beauty and truth of the Gospel (pause for a moment). Lord, hear us
  2. That Christians may be joyful at the Lord’s coming (pause for a moment). Lord, hear us.
  3. That the blind, the lame and the deaf may have new strength (pause for a moment). Lord hear us.
  4. That children who are in need may be looked after (pause for a moment). Lord hear us
  5. That people who live in fear may have courage (pause for a moment). Lord hear us.
  6. That those who suffer because of addiction may find support (pause for a moment). Lord hear us.

The presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N and N) that they may be raised up to glory (pause for a moment). Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) O God, you keep faith with those in need of your kindness and justice, receive the prayers we make, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
