Thank you all for taking this initiative – it’s long overdue. Our political leaders have failed us by failing to stand up to the evils of the Israeli regime. We need pro-life, pro-peace, moral and courageous leadership – like Pope Leo VIV. The Bishops’ Conference should issue a pastoral letter – to be read out at all Masses, so that the faithful know there is a moral compass in our society, and that Catholics support the rights of the people of Palestine. We also need to reiterate that the present-day Israeli state is not the Israel that’s referenced in the Bible, and that all peoples have rights and are equal in the sight of God.
