Edinburgh Newman Association

We are looking forward to welcoming Fr. Gerry O’Hanlon SJ to Edinburgh next Thursday, April 27th to speak at our Edinburgh Newman Association that evening on the subject of the Synod and the progress of the synodal process.

Gerry was last in Edinburgh in February 2019 following the publication of his book, “The Quiet Revolution of Pope Francis – A Synodal Catholic Church Church in Ireland” which was the topic of his talk that evening in 2019. It was the first real insight many of had of what the Synod was all about.

More recently I have been sharing with many over here in Scotland the remarkably positive response there has been to the whole synodal process at home in Ireland.

And, of course, we know that Gerry has been one of the prime movers in that positive response.

The title of his talk next Thursday will be “The Synodal Pathway – Where are we at now?”

Our meeting will be at our usual venue, the Mayfield Salisbury Church Of Scotland, 18 West Mayfield, Edinburgh EH9 1TQ.

The meeting will begin at 7.30pm and end at 9.30pm approximately.

The Association would like to extend a warm welcome to all those who wish to attend.

Paddy Ferry.
