Fourth Sunday of Easter – prayers of the faithful

Introduction (by the Presider) As the people of God welcomes a new pope, we pray a blessing on the Church and the whole world:

  1. That God may be with our new pope, Leo (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  2. That the nations may hear his message of peace (pause a moment for quiet prayer).Lord, hear us..
  3. That social justice may grow everywhere (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  4. That missionaries may bring Good News to the poor (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  5. That young people may consider their vocation (pause a moment for quiet prayer).Lord, hear us.
  6. That those who are depressed may go from Darkness to Light (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: That all who have died may dwell in the house of the Lord (especially our friends N & N) and that God may wipe away all tears from our eyes (pause a moment for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) God our shepherd, you care for all your flock; hear these and all the prayers of your Church, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
