Kieran O’Mahony OSA: Hearers of the Word

This is the link to the website of Kieran O’Mahony OSA, an Augustinian friar and biblical scholar, living in St John’s Priory, Dublin D08 F8NW.

He states: “The goal of this website is to open people’s minds and hearts to the Word of God. The ordinary person experiences Scripture mostly through the readings at public worship. Accordingly, my own emphasis will be on the Sunday and daily readings as found in the Catholic lectionary. This lectionary is not too different from the Revised Common Lectionary and my sincere hope is that the resources found here might be used across the traditions.”

  1. It is interesting to see that Father O’Mahony’s website https://tarsus.ie offers no means of making contact with him. Hence, my comment will be through this excellant website. Father O’Mahony states his intention is to confine his scriptural resource, for the ordinary people, to the set readings allocated to be read on Sundays and weekdays. It could be of interest to many people if some sessions were also devoted to those passages which rarely or never are heard read in Church. This might awaken a greater interest in the scriptures.

The Tarsus Scripture Summer School currently being held at Maynooth University is really excellent.
