Root & Branch: Honouring Stolen Lives

Please join our Liturgy for our Day of Prayer for Survivors and Victims of Abuse
Each year the Catholic Church asks us to hold a Day of Prayer for Survivors and Victims of Abuse, usually held in May in England and Wales. What began as the Bishops’ requested penitential service for clerical sexual abuse has quietly been rebranded to cover all abuse. R&B, however, sees 1st May as a day of deep appreciation for all those people, lay, religious and clerical, living and dead, who have suffered abuse at the hands of the Catholic Church. We honour victims and survivors of clerical abuse or persecution in all its forms. We remember those, more than we can number, who have challenged patently false Church teachings, abusive behaviours or outright discriminations. They encourage us to carry on the struggle against hypocrisy and cover-up. We warmly invite you to share in our collective act of remembrance and recognition on May 1st. Please do come if you can.
8pm Thurs 1st May London time, 9 pm Rome, 3 pm New York, 12 pm LA Friday 2nd May, 12.30 am Mumbai, 5 am Sydney, 7 am Wellington
