Third Sunday of Lent – Bidding prayers

Introduction (by the Presider): Let us bring our needs to our compassionate and koving God.

  1. For Church of God throughout the world, that we may believe in God’s mercy and forgiveness (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  2. For the cardinals preparing to vote for a new pope, that the Holy Spirit may inspire them (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  3. For the people preparing for baptism this Lent, that God may lead them to new life at Easter (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  4. For the Jews in every country, that they may continue to grow in the love of God’s Name (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  5. For all who rely on our prayers, that God may show them his compassion (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
  6. For victims of war and natural disasters, that the rest of the world may give them every help (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.

 

The presider prayers for the dead ‘that they may enter the heavenly rest that all people seek’ (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider): God of mercy and compassion, hear the prtayers we make, through Christ our Lord. Amen
