This downgrading is a regrettable example of the Church trying to conform the Faith to society, rather than boldly preaching the Good News and drawing society to Holy Mother Church.
I very much like that suggestion that without the paralytic, his friends wouldn't have got so close to Jesus. Lots of avenues for thought there. Thanks
@1, Actually Fr. Dolan the new language is designed to designed to reflect the actual words of the original Latin more faithfully than the old translation managed to do.

It's not only the opening prayers of the mass that are a problem. The "new translation" of the Eucharistic prayers has destroyed the beauty of what was already there. Much of the new language is obvio
