Dr Fáinche Ryan    is a lecturer in systematic theology and was director of the Institute from 2016 to 2020. She was elected fellow of Trinity College Dublin in 2019, her doctorate work on the theology of Thomas Aquinas was completed at the Angelicum, University of Thomas Aquinas in Rome in 2007. She was president of the Irish Theological Association 2010 to 2016 and is presently the president of the Irish section of the European Society for Catholic Theology. Her current research focuses on the virtue of truth-telling in a Post-Truth era. Dr. Ryan also works in the area of ecclesiology and ministry. Since coming to Trinity College Dublin her research interests have expanded to include the theology of the early Irish church.
