Key message:
The resurrection of our loving Lord Jesus ensures that we can live joyfully on earth and enter Heaven triumphantly.
Our Lord Jesus shows us the way to Heaven by His life, death, resurrection, and ascension to Heaven. There is a myth, that if we are followers of Lord Jesus, we will always be suffering. We think that even if we have a cross in our house, we will always be suffering. But did our Lord Jesus always hang on the cross? No. He showed that after the cross, there will always be a resurrection.
Whatever our Lord Jesus did was to give us joy. His incarnation, crucifixion, resurrection, and ascension to Heaven, all were planned for take care of us. He paid the price for our souls. He paid for our sins. He has opened the gates of Heaven for us. We need to be joyful, that we have a home in Heaven whether or not we have a home on earth.
Sometimes we are doubtful whether the gate of Heaven will remain open when we enter. We consider the multitude of our sins and then doubt if we are capable of entering Heaven. These thoughts flow in our minds.
The story of the good thief is a good message for us. In spite of living in sin for his whole life, when he recognized Lord Jesus as the Son of Almighty God, he immediately pleaded from the cross, “Lord Jesus please remember me when you come in your kingdom”. Our Lord Jesus readily forgives. He immediately said, “Today you will be in Heaven”. The good thief never dreamed that he can go to Heaven. He never knew that there can be one Saviour for him who can rise up from the dead and take him to Heaven. For him, both his current life and his next life were also doomed. His sins were numerous. There was no hope in him. He never felt happiness till he met our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Our Lord Jesus chose him to give the message of forgiveness – He is waiting to receive all those who repent and believe Him.
In our own lives we may not have any hope. But let us trust in our Lord Jesus Christ. The same God who has said to us, “I have good plans for your future. Plans to prosper you, not to harm you”, sent His only son our loving Lord Jesus to be crucified on a cross and die a terrible death in order to pay for our sins. As a loving Father, He was not able to bear to see us pay for our own sins. Hence God came to the earth, lived to show us how we need to live, paid for our sins, and rose again and opened the Gates of His sweet abode in Heaven. Like the father of the prodigal son, our Almighty Father is now waiting for us in Heaven, when we will throw away our sinful life and come back to Him.
After rising from the dead, what did our dear Lord do?
He went and met all those who loved Him dearly. (He first met Mother Mary according to “The Poem of Man-God”. It is very touching to read about their meeting. He had also appeared to many people who had loved Him while on earth.)
When we long for Him, He will hurriedly come and meet us. Though we do not realize it, He is always with us. Instead of saying “Where is God?”, Can we say “I love You My Lord Jesus”.
When our dear Lord Jesus was crucified, He did not look like a human. His body was fully covered with wounds and torn. But when He was resurrected, His whole body shone with Heavenly brightness. There was no trace of wounds in His body apart from the five precious wounds. All His organs that were damaged (his eyes, mouth, ears, nose, kidneys, lungs, etc..) got cured and the resurrected Lord Jesus did not have any sickness. He understands our pain and is waiting to cure our sickness and free us from all sufferings.
Let us go to the resurrected Lord Jesus. He forgives all our sins and cures all our sicknesses.
