    26 April 2026 – 4th Sunday of Easter, (A)

Thank you for the challenge : "Here are three questions worth pondering by us all, bishops, priests and laity: 1) Who will be the true shepherds in the coming years? 2) How will those shepherds carry out the mission to those outside the fold? 3) What needs to change so that each community can celebrate the Eucharistic every Sunday?" It would be a big step forward if these questions - which are surfacing widely in the Irish Synodal Pathway - were actually asked in the homilies - (including the RTÉ televised Good Shepherd Sunday Mass). Some may even notice in the process that only men are presently allowed to preach homilies at Mass! https://www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/04/05/denial-of-a-vocation-to-women-isnt-just-discomfort-it-is-spiritual-abuse/

Séamus Ahearne: Donald J Trump  V  Pope Leo Bob Prevost

    April 17 2026

Pope Leo's goodness burst forth in your contrasting of him with Donald Trump. In a good painting there is a mastery between light and darkness. Dark shades on a canvas allow the brightness of the colours to burst forth. Darkness is defined as the absence of light. "Let there be light."

Brendan Hoban in his Western People article of 14.4.2026 takes issue with The Irish Catholic editor

As a man with an Engineering degree, and a man who though unworthy, has been given the gift of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Faith, I fully accept the definition of Papal Infallibility, as promulgated at Vatican Council I, by Pius IX, of Happy Memory. I think it is best to let that Council speak for itself. From Pastor Aeternus: "We teach and define as a divinely revealed dogma that when the Roman pontiff speaks EX CATHEDRA, that is, when, in the exercise of his office as shepherd and teacher of all Christians, in virtue of his supreme apostolic authority, he defines a doctrine concerning faith or morals to be held by the whole church, he possesses, by the divine assistance promised to him in blessed Peter, that infallibility which the divine Redeemer willed his church to enjoy in defining doctrine concerning faith or morals. Therefore, such definitions of the Roman pontiff are of themselves, and not by the consent of the church, irreformable. So then, should anyone, which God forbid, have the temerity to reject this definition of ours: let him be anathema." Pope Francis didn't rescind this. No Pope has the Authority to do so.

    19 April 2026 – 3rd Sunday of Easter, (A)

    April 19 2026
    Thara Benedicta
Key Message: Jesus walks with us and longing to stay with us!! Homily: Testimony: "In one of the manager's conferences in our office, there was a manager with an exceptional track record. She was consistently successful. So the other managers asked her, "What is your secret recipe?" She plainly told, "Every morning between 5 - 6 am, I spend my time with Jesus. So I feel that whatever happens my Jesus will take care of the issues". In today's Gospel reading, the two disciples were talking and worried. They were trying to figure out things... What is actually happening around them? Our Lord Jesus wants to them to enjoy the peace and joy of His resurrection. So He joins and walks with them. He reveals to them all the secrets of Heaven, hidden in the prophecies of the prophets. Their hearts are stirred. But still they do not question why their hearts are burning. They do not pause to think. Does all these sound familiar to you? When problems arise, we overthink, panic, meditate on the problems and get exhausted. As a result, we forget that our Lord Jesus is just beside us. But our Lord never forgets us. He keeps smiling at us, waiting for us to follow His restful yoke. All we need to do is to remember Jesus and simply call Him for help, right from our heart "Jesus". Our Lord Jesus immediately stopped when our Lord heard the blind beggar calling Him. Won't our Lord stop for you? Our Lord Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Some have questions, when I call my Jesus, how do I know if our Lord is answering? A few tips: 1. In a small inner peace Even when problems are big… suddenly you feel a little calm. That is not you. That is Jesus walking with you. 2. In a gentle thought A thought comes: “Do not worry”, “Trust God”,“Take one step at a time.” That is Jesus speaking inside you. 3. Through Scripture You read one verse… and it feels like it is written just for you. That is Jesus opening the Word to you. 4. Through people Someone says the right thing at the right time. That is Jesus reaching you through them. But there Is one condition, if we choose a wrong path, He cannot walk with us there. How can our Lord Jesus also walk on the wrong path with us? That is what the Bible verse promises, "Say to the just man, All is Well." Our Lord Jesus will never force Himself into your life. He waits. Our Lord longs to be invited into our life. Just like in the Gospel: "He acted as if He was going further…" This is the only place in the Bible, where our Lord Jesus acted. Why? Because He was waiting for them to invite Him. “Stay with us.” Our Jesus is still waiting for your invitation, "Stay with me".
