Third Sunday of Easter – Bidding prayers
Introduction (by the Presider): God rescues us from all our distress, so we bring our prayers with confidence.
- That Christians, who suffer for their faith, may have courage (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us
- That all missionaries may be as good as the early disciples (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That fishermen, and all who work on the sea, may have God’s protection (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That those who cook food, may be blessed by God, who feeds us all (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That God may bless our friends and all who love us (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
- That people who are sick or troubled may realise that God is with them (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
The presider prays for the dead, those who died during the week and those whose anniversaries occur:, ‘that all who have died may join those gathered around the throne of the Lamb’ (pause for quiet prayer). Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider): O Lord, you listen and have pity on your people: let your help guide us all the days of our life, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
