Presider’s Page for 3 July (14th Sunday in Ordinary Time)
We gather to praise God’s faithfulness, and to ask for grace in the work we’re called to do.
Penitential Rite
To prepare ourselves to celebrate the Mass, let us call to mind our sins: (pause)
You were sent to heal the contrite: Lord, have mercy.
You came to call sinners: Christ, have mercy.
You plead for us at the right hand of the Father: Lord, have mercy.
Opening Prayer (from 1998 ICEL Missal)
Boundless, O God, is your saving power;
your harvest reaches to the ends of the earth.
Fill our hearts with zeal for your kingdom
and place on our lips the tidings of peace.
Grant us perseverance as heralds of the gospel
and joy as disciples of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
