BIDDING PRAYERS
Introduction (by the Presider): Acknowledging that God always listens to our prayers, let us make our needs known.
- For all the members of the Church, that they may learn to rely on God’s help (pause). Lord, hear us.
- For those who suffer from hunger, that the food of the world may be shared (pause). Lord, hear us.
- For people in any kind of need here, that the kindness of friends may remind them of God’s care (pause). Lord, hear us.
- For our families and those we are concerned about, that God may support those who need help (pause) Lord, hear us.
The presider prays for the dead, those who died during the week (especially those killed in the Spanish rail disaster) and those whose anniversaries occur (and the person/people for whom Mass is offered) ‘that through their baptismal sharing in Christ’s power, they may be raised up (pause). Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider) God of glory and majesty, you answer the prayers of those who call out to you: be with your people in their every need, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
