It is interesting that the Centurion abases himself before the Jew. He is desperate to have his servant/slave healed. Why is that? what is the relationship between the centurion and the servant. This is beyond what would be in any way appropriate for the centurion. He must love the slave very much to go such a length for him. Jesus does not question the relationship or ask why the centurion is so anxious over a slave.
What does this tell us about human relationships?
