    Key Message:
Easter Song “Hakuna matata, It’s all problem free!!”

    Homily:
Story: Smith was forced to carry a heavy load of sack in his back to repay his debt. David, a kind, rich person saw his difficult plight and repaid all the debts of Smith. Though Smith knew that David had repaid all his debts he still continued to carry his heavy sack on his back. He did not come to the realization that he has been set free from the heavy sack and now it was time for him to run around and enjoy his life joyfully. David was very worried because though he did all that he could do out of his hands, this poor Smith didn’t realise it. David wanted Smith to be powerful, but Smith continued to be pitiful.

Our Almighty Father does not want us to be pitiful but powerful. His heart is longing for us to be cheerful. He sent His only Son to the earth. His only Son showed us the way to live, repeatedly assuring us “DO NOT FEAR, DO NOT WORRY”. He was wounded in His Body to heal our wounds. He poured out His Blood for the forgiveness of our sins and finally He tasted the most terrible death on this earth for us, conquering Satan and death.
So now there is no fear of Satan, sickness, our past sins and death.

Our Almighty Father is not angry at us because of our past sins. All that He wants is for us to throw away our past sins behind our back as He has thrown them behind His back. He does not want us to dwell in the memories of our past sins but rather lead a new refreshing life in our future.

Our Almighty Father has also taught us to be happy. For every gift He wants us to celebrate and be joyful. In the Old Testament, He has ordered celebrations for every event like Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits, Feast of Weeks or Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Booths or Tabernacles, Festival of Lights. Easter is the Holy gift by which all our sins are forgiven and we are reborn as a sinless baby through the renewal of our Baptismal promises.

Through the Easter Event, the gates of Heaven were opened for us. Easter has created for us a new life on earth and a new life in Heaven. Hence this should be the greatest celebration in all of our lives.

How can we celebrate Easter? As instructed in the festivals of the Old Testament, whatever food we have, let us share with our neighbours. Let the first Easter gift we buy be not for us, but for our suffering neighbour. Testimony: “I was asking Jesus, what gift could I give Him for Easter. I silently heard the voice of the Holy Spirit, ‘Let there be no fights within your family’. Then I realized that being peaceful within our family will be the best gift to our Lord Jesus”.

During this Easter, our Lord Jesus says, “It’s all problem free”.
Let us not unnecessarily complicate our lives.
