  1. “When at the age of eight days, Jesus was presented in the Temple, his future was foretold by an eighty-four year old woman, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel.”

    Luke 2,21 : “And when eight days had passed, before His circumcision, His name was then called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.”

    The Gospel of Luke 2:22–39 relates that Mary was purified according to the religious law, followed by Jesus’ presentation in the Jerusalem temple, and this explains the formal names given to the festival, as well as its falling 40 days after the Nativity.

    Jesus was presented at the temple 40 days after his birth!
