Bidding Prayers for 19 February (Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time)

BIDDING PRAYERS for Sunday Mass on 19 February

Introduction (by the Presider)  We bring our prayers to our God of compassion and love, who is slow to anger and rich in mercy:

  1. For Francis our pope and all leaders (pause for five seconds). Lord, hear us
  2. For an end to the fighting in Ukraine (pause for five seconds). Lord, hear us.
  3. For peace between people at war with each other (pause for five seconds). Lord hear us.
  4. For those suffering after the earthquake in Turkey and Syria (pause for five seconds). Lord hear us
  5. For people who are sick or troubled (pause for five seconds). Lord hear us.
  6. For all who may have hurt us (pause for five seconds). Lord hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: For those who have died (especially N.& N. who died recently and N. & N. whose anniversaries occur), that God may bring them to their eternal home (pause for quiet prayer)  Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) God of love and compassion, have pity on your people and grant us your gracious help, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
