Bidding Prayers for 30 July – 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

BIDDING PRAYERS for Sunday Mass on 30 July

Introduction (by the Presider) Let us bring our prayers before our God of wisdom and love:

  1. That those who govern nations may be as wise as the great leader Solomon (pause and pray for this…). Lord, hear us.
  2. That all who search for answers may receive the gift of true wisdom (pause and pray for this…). Lord, hear us.
  3. That the young people who gather in Lisbon for World Youth Day may be filled with faith (pause and pray for this…). Lord, hear us.
  4. That Pope Francis may bring them a message of courage and hope (pause and pray for this…). Lord, hear us.
  5. That Bishop Fintan and the Cork & Ross pilgrims to Lisbon may have a joyful week (pause and pray for this…). Lord, hear us.
  6. That God may keep safe those all those who travel, by land or by sea (pause and pray for this…). Lord, hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead: That those whose life on earth is over may reach their eternal home in heaven (pause for silent prayer…).  Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) God of wisdom and love, your will is wonderful indeed: hear the prayers we make and help us live by your precepts, through Christ our Lord. Amen
