32nd Sunday Ordinary Time — Bidding prayers

Introduction (by the Presider): The Lord raises up those who are bowed down, so let us bring forward our prayers with confidence.

  1. For all religious leaders, that their own faith may be genuine and sincere (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
  2. For Christians, that they may be generous (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
  3. For the poor, that their trust in God may keep them going (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us
  4. For our world, on this day when peace was made after World War One, that we may be spared from further wars (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
  5. For those who grieve during these November days, that God may comfort them (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.
  6. For all Irish people who have died in war or in the service of the United Nations, that they may rest in eternal peace (pause for silent prayer). Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the presider): Lord, you support those in sorrow or pain: help us in all our needs, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
