Bidding Prayers for 21 May (Ascension of the Lord)

BIDDING PRAYERS for Sunday Mass on 21 May

Introduction (by the Presider) With confidence, we bring our prayers before God, the Most High:

  1. That Christian missionaries may be full of enthusiasm (pause and pray for this…). Lord, hear us.
  2. That we may be sustained by Christ on our journey of faith (pause and pray for this… ). Lord, hear us.
  3. That children receiving First Communion may always see Jesus as their Bread of Life (pause and pray for this..). Lord hear us.
  4. That those who work in the media may tell the truth about the world (pause and pray for this…). Lord hear us.
  5. That people who run parish newsletters and websites may share Good News (pause and pray for this…). Lord hear us.
  6. That God may keep us in contact with all our friends, near and far (pause and pray for this…). Lord hear us.

The Presider prays for the dead:  For those whose life in this world has ended (especially N & N), that where Christ has gone, they may soon follow (pause and pray for this…).  Lord, hear us.

Conclusion (by the Presider) God most high, king of all the earth, you care for all you have made: hear these prayers we make in faith, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
